With this blog and the accompanying wiki, I hope to demonstrate a form of ongoing research about a particular image using online platforms. This experiment serves to catalog my own learning, exploration, insight, and research about Grant Wood’s American Gothic. I’ll be writing about secondary research on Grant Wood and AG, analyzing remix and parodies, and otherwise exploring the resonance of this painting. Ideally this work might serve as an example for others interested in similar engagements with artwork, photography, text/image combinations, and other visual texts.
